Hut to Hut Trip 2018

Every year a group of JR Butler employees plan a hut-to-hut trip in the mountains. This year they hiked 23 miles for this adventure!
We love these events and the bonds that they create to make us more like family.

16 Chestnut Topping Out Party

JR Butler's project in downtown Denver on 16 and Chestnut had a topping out party for the glass panels for this project. It was an excellent event, and we were excited to share in such a great accomplishment for everyone on the job.

Juno Padilla, our Arrupe senior, applied for four scholarships this year:

The Better Business Bureau Scholarship for being a student of integrity.
Daniel's Fund Scholarship which covers all of his schooling costs through his Bachelors degree.
The very prestigious Gates Scholarship which covers all of his schooling expenses (and more) all the way through a Doctorate degree.
And finally, the Greenhouse Scholarship which highlights him as a high performing student.

We are overly excited to announce that he was awarded all four scholarships!!
We can't wait to see him shine in college next year!

Recently, a group of our Execitives traveled to Kentucky to tour the Toyota/Lexus plant and to also create a J.R. Butler brand of bourbon at Woodford Reserve. They had an amazing time and came back with their very own blend of bourbon which will be showcased, by the barrel, in the full bar at our new office in Centennial!

On Monday, September 28, Matt Calkins, Vice President, and Jeff Kleinschmidt, Director of Operations, attended and presented J.R. Butler's Lean values at the Gensler Design Disrupters Day for the Denver Startup Week.

Congratulations to Walker Sanchez as he graduated from Arrupe Jesuit High School on Friday, May 29.
Walker has been a student employee of JR Butler since 2012.
Walker will be attending the University of Colorado at Boulder. He received 3 scholarships this past year to help with his future, one of which being the first ever "JRB Earn Your Education Scholarship."
We are proud of all of his accomplishments and excited to say that he will continue to work for us here at JR Butler.

Step 13 - "It's a hand up, not a hand out."

Step 13 was a program started in 1983 by Bob Coté, a former boxer from Detroit. The program helps men with addiction challenges not only to find sobriety, but put their life and careers back on track. This is done through the dignity of work, something JR Butler can get behind and understand at a deep level. We believe understanding the dignity of work can solve many of our problems in society, not just sobriety.

Pictured is our CEO Marc Butler along with Felix Mestas, Director of Field Operations and Sam Lilgerose, Superintendent whom spent an evening sharing stories of overcoming their own challenges and becoming successful leaders.

JR Butler is proud to be an affiliate and supporter of Step 13.

Elite Team Hosts First Summer BBQ

"All work and no play" is not a JR Butler motto. On Saturday, August 16, the JR Butler Elite teamed proved just that with their first Summer BBQ.
Employees from the field, manufacturing, and office came together with their families at the Washington Park boathouse for an afternoon of great food and family fun. While the kids enjoyed the paddle boats on the lake and the double surrey rides around the park, the adults took to some light-hearted competition on the volleyball court (winner depends on who you ask).
Lesson learned: Our guys are the best at what they do at work but they cannot keep footballs out of the trees.

The Colorado Freedom Memorial on The News

Project manager, Aaron Edwards, took part in a very special ceremony yesterday for the Colorado Freedom Memorial. JR Butler is very honored to be a part of this project. The Colorado Freedom Memorial is a memorial honoring every Coloradan soldier killed in the line of duty since statehood.

Aaron drove up to Fort Morgan, Colorado to meet the truck delivering the glass from Viracon, our glass supplier. They had a full escort all the way to the job site in Aurora, with the point guard and federal protection agency. Numerous police departments also participated in the ceremony, blocking intersections and street - all saluting their respects as the convoy drove by.

We are so proud to announce that J.R. Butler was awarded two AGC Ace Awards!

The ENR Mountain States Insider has named the Denver Police Crime Lab as a 2012 Best Project Winner. The crime lab is being recognized as one of the most high-tech crime labs in the country.
